AMERICOM GOVERNMENT SERVICES First to Offer Command and Control-on-the-Move Satellite Service; AGS Delivers True Mobile Broadband IP Connectivity to Aid the Warfighter.

WASHINGTON -- AMERICOM GOVERNMENT SERVICES, Inc. (AGS), a wholly owned subsidiary of SES AMERICOM, today announced that it has signed an agreement with ViaSat, Inc. (NASDAQ: VSAT) to combine ViaSat's technology with AGS's satellite, teleport, and terrestrial infrastructure to offer Command and Control On-the-Move (C2OTM) service to the DoD warfighter community. This emerging technology has been successfully demonstrated to provide two-way broadband IP connectivity to military vehicles moving at speeds of up to 60 miles per hour and above. The AMERICOM GOVERNMENT SERVICES C2OTM service will provide channel speeds of 10 Mbps from DoD's Global Information Grid (GIG) to the vehicle and up to 512kbps from the vehicle back to the GIG.

The service will provide real time support for a full range of IP applications including VoIP, two- way video for surveillance and reconnaissance applications, warfighter coordination tools such as common operational perspective and blue force tracking, as well as a full range of logistics and training applications. Successful DoD trials have also included a secure wireless hub infrastructure, which extends the on-the-move broadband capability to soldiers and vehicles traveling in formation with the C2OTM equipped vehicle.

Unlike lower speed mobile services available to the warfighter today, this Ku-band satellite-based service will provide unrestricted connectivity for a fixed price per month. The AMERICOM GOVERNMENT SERVICES C2OTM system avoids interference with adjacent spacecraft by the innovative use of spread spectrum technology on the satellite channel. This spread spectrum technology mitigates a host of potential regulatory and operational issues. Spread spectrum also allows for smaller antennas and higher channel speeds within acceptable regulatory parameters.

AMERICOM GOVERNMENT SERVICES is initially offering C2OTM service in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) and in the United States to support training and testing needs, with an eventual rollout enabling the service globally.
