AMERICAN STOCK EXCHANGE DAILY REPORT

 NEW YORK, Nov. 30 ~PRNewswire~ -- Prices on the American Stock Exchange closed higher today in active trading. The Amex Market Value Index closed up 1.72 to 395.11. Advances led declines 369 to 238 with 187 issues unchanged. The average price per share rose five cents.
 Stock volume for the regular session totaled 17,632,390 shares, up from the 8,180,590 shares traded Friday. After-hours volume totaled 3,000 shares, bringing the cumulative volume for today to 17,635,390 shares.
 Topping the most active list was Amdahl, down 7~8 to 7 on 2,518,200 shares, followed by Hillhaven, up 1~4 to 3-3~8 on 789,400 shares. The third most active issue, Biopharmaceutics was down 3~16 to 2-1~2 on 679,400 shares.

 Today's cumulative volume in the Emerging Company Marketplace (ECM) totaled 584,000 shares. The most actively traded stock on the ECM was Intertel Communications, Inc., unchanged at 3~4 on 219,000 shares.
 Trading in options was light today with 137,312 contracts changing hands as compared with 71,313 contracts traded yesterday. Calls were higher as puts traded lower.
 Topping the most active list in puts was the Disney December 40 series, down 1~4 to 3~8 on 1,502 contracts, followed by the Disney January 40 series, down 7~16 to 3~4 on 1,195 contracts. The third most active was the Major Market Index 330 series unchanged at 7~16 on 958 contracts.
 Topping the most active list in calls was the AMR Corporation series, down 3~16 to 1-5~16 on 2,637 contracts, followed by The American Barrick January 30 series up 1~8 to 13~16 on 2,102 contracts. The third most active was the U.S. Surgical December 70 series, down 5~8 to 7~8 on 1,879 contracts.
 AMEX Index Options closed as follows:
 Standard & Poor's MidCap Index: up .81 to 155.62. Contracts volume 1,738, with 1,138 puts and 600 calls.
 Major Market Index: up .63 to 348.90. Contracts volume 7,513, with 3,955 puts and 3,558 calls.
 XMI Leaps Index: up .06 to 34.89. Contracts volume 118, with 114 puts and 4 calls.
 Institutional Index (XII): up .61 to 442.52. Contracts volume 910, with 150 puts and 760 calls.
