 NEW YORK, Nov. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Prices on the American Stock


Exchange closed higher today in moderately active trading. The Amex Market Value Index closed up 0.13 to 382.83. Advances led declines 256 to 238 with 235 issues unchanged. The average price per share rose one cent.
 Stock volume for the regular session totaled 14,300,960 shares, up from the 13,680,615 shares traded yesterday. There was no after-hours activity.
 Topping the most active list was IVAX Corp., down 5/8 to 30 1/2 on 516,800 shares, followed by Amdahl, up 1/2 to 8 5/8 on 453,000 shares. The third most active issue, Heritage Media Corporation was down 1/4 to 6 on 345,400 shares.

 Today's cumulative volume in the Emerging Company Marketplace (ECM) totaled 267,700 shares. The most actively traded stock on the ECM was AUDRE Recognition Systems, Inc., down 1/16 to 3 1/8 on 55,800 shares.
 Trading in options was light today with 138,193 contracts changing hands as compared with 141,183 contracts traded yesterday. Calls were higher as puts traded lower.
 Topping the most active list in puts was the U.S. Surgical November 60 series, up 3/8 to 1 5/8 on 2,335 contracts, followed by the Tucson Electric Power April 5 series, down 1/16 to 2 3/16 on 1,544 contracts. The third most active was the Institutional Index December 400 series up 1/16 to 2 1/16 on 1,520 contracts.
 Topping the most active list in calls was the Eli Lilly November 65 series, up 1/16 to 7/16 on 2,400 contracts, followed by the U.S. Surgical November 65 series down 11/16 to 1 15/16 on 2,185 contracts. The third most active was the U.S. Surgical November 75 series, down 1/16 to 1/8 on 1,653 contracts.
