 NEW YORK, June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Prices on the American Stock


Exchange closed lower today in moderate trading. The Amex Market Value Index closed down 2.54 to 374.20. Declines led advances 267 to 209 with 243 issues unchanged. The average price per share fell eight cents.
 Stock volume for the regular session totaled 10,606,705 shares, down from the 11,287,510 shares traded yesterday. There was no after-hours activity.
 Topping the most active list was IVAX Corporation, up 1 1/2 to 24 1/8 on 566,800 shares, followed by Wang Labs, Class B, unchanged at 3 1/4 on 449,200 shares. The third most active issue, Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company was down 1 to 35 5/8 on 287,000 shares.

 Today's volume in the Emerging Company Marketplace (ECM) totaled 138,200 shares. The most actively traded stock on the ECM was Top Source, up 1/16 to 3 on 42,000 shares.
 Trading in options was active today with 240,646 contracts changing hands as compared with 169,641 contracts traded yesterday. Puts were higher as calls traded lower.
 Topping the most active list in puts was the Phillip Morris July 70 series, down 13/16 to 11/16 on 9,645 contracts, followed by the Nabisco July 10 series, down 1/8 to 3/4 on 5,534 contracts. The third most active was the Phillip Morris July 75 series down 1 3/16 to 2 9/16 on 5,048 contracts.
 Topping the most active list in calls was the Phillip Morris July 75 series, down 5/8 to 1 9/16 on 16,794 contracts, followed by the Nabisco July 10 series down 3/16 to 1/8 on 13,265 contracts. The third most active was the Phillip Morris July 80 series, down 5/16 to 1/4 on 6,683 contracts.
