 NEW YORK, June 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Prices on the American Stock


Exchange closed lower today in moderate trading. The Amex Market Value Index closed down 2.66 to 386.12. Declines led advances 297 to 207 with 245 issues unchanged. The average price per share fell seven cents.
 Stock volume for the regular session totaled 10,169,555 shares, down from the 10,659,210 shares traded yesterday. There was no after-hours trading activity.
 Topping the most active list was Nabors Industries, up 1/8 to 7, on 724,300 shares, followed by Gulf Canada Resources, down 5/8 to 5 1/8, on 269,000 shares. The third most active issue, IVAX Corp., was up 3/8 to 24 on 262,300 shares.

 Today's volume in the Emerging Company Marketplace (ECM) totaled 222,900 shares. The most actively traded stock on the ECM was Intertel Communications, unchanged at 1 5/16 on 63,600 shares.
 Trading in options was light today with 142,093 contracts changing hands as compared with 148,726 contracts traded yesterday. Puts were higher as calls traded lower.
 Topping the most active list in puts was the Major Market Index June 355 series, up 1 3/4 to 3 7/8 on 1,342 contracts, followed by the Phillip Morris July 65 series, up 7/16 to 1 1/4 on 1,298 contracts. The third most active was the XMI Leaps December 35 series down 1/16 to 2 1/4 on 1,030 contracts.
 Topping the most active list in calls was the Phillip Morris July 80 series, down 5/16 to 3/4 on 3,750 contracts, followed by the Phillip Morris July 75 series down 3/4 to 1 7/8 on 2,871 contracts. The third most active was the Phillip Morris June 80 series, unchanged at 1/16 on 1,783 contracts.
