    NEW YORK, Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Prices on the American Stock


Exchange closed lower today in very active trading. The Amex Market Value Index closed down 0.56 to 391.81. Declines led advances 334 to 234 with 266 issues unchanged. The average price per share fell two cents.
    Stock volume for the regular session totaled 14,616,315 shares, down from the 16,516,820 shares traded yesterday.  There was no After-hours trading activity.
    There were 205 block trades, while 208 blocks were traded in the previous trading session.
    Topping the most active list was Hillhaven Corporation, unchanged at 2-1/2 on 726,200 shares, followed by Fruit of the Loom, up 1-1/8 to 24-7/8 on 516,900 shares.  The third most active issue, Instrument Systems Corporation, was up 1/4 to 6 on 413,500 shares.

    Trading in options was moderate today with 177,580 contracts changing hands as compared with 186,392 contracts traded yesterday. Calls were higher as puts traded lower.
    Topping the most active list in puts was the Disney Nov. 110 series, up 5/8 to 1 on 2,089 contracts, followed by the RJR Nabisco Dec. 10 series, unchanged at 1/4 on 2,010 contracts.  The third most active was the RJR Nabisco Dec. 7 1/2 series unchanged at 1/16 on 1,900 contracts.
    Topping the most active list in calls was the Glaxo Dec. 30 series, up 3/16 to 1-11/16 on 3,534 contracts, followed by the RJR Nabisco Nov. 7 1/2 series down 1/16 to 2-5/8 on 2,964 contracts.  The third most active was the Major Market Index Nov. 325 series, up 1 to 3-1/8 on 2,496 contracts.
    AMEX Index Options closed as follows:
    Major Market Index: up 1.28 to 327.25.  Contracts volume 13,186, with 5,569 puts and 7,617 calls.
    Lt (XLT) Index: up .12 to 32.72.  Contracts volume 230, with 230 puts and 0 calls.
    Institutional Index: up .56 to 413.62.  Contracts volume 3,684, with 2,605 puts and 1,079 calls.
    Japan Index: down 2.52 to 245.50.  Contracts volume 751, with 531 puts and 220 calls.
    Computer Technology Index: up .22 to 113.85.  Contracts volume 10, with 9 puts and 1 calls.
    Oil Index: down .94 to 248.83.  Contracts volume 40, with 34 puts and 6 calls.
    Most Active Major Market Index Option: Nov. 325 calls, with a total of 2,496 contracts traded.
    Most Active Institutional Index Option: Dec 395 puts, with a total of 547 contracts traded.
