AMERICAN HONDA AND JACKIE JOYNER-KERSEE JOIN FORCES

 TORRANCE, Calif., Oct. 12 /PRnewswire/ -- American Honda Motor Co. Inc. has announced that Jackie Joyner-Kersee will represent Honda in a number of track and field events over the next two years.
 Joyner-Kersee, three-time Olympian with gold medals in heptathlon and long jump and recent winner at the World Track and Field Championships in Stuttgart, Germany, was awarded the Broderick Cup in 1985. This award, now referred to as the Honda Cup, is presented annually to the collegiate woman athlete who is judged most deserving of recognition as the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year. Since 1987, American Honda has sponsored the Honda Cup, recognizing the top NCAA women athletes.
 The teaming of American Honda and Joyner-Kersee represents Honda's commitment to education and to women's athletic programs, which parallels Joyner-Kersee's commitment and support.
 Representing Honda, Joyner-Kersee will compete in several track and field events and be involved with numerous educational programs; including the Honda Campus All-Star Challenge.
