AMERICAN GENERAL NAMES D'AGOSTINO SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT-ADMINISTRATION
 HOUSTON, Dec. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- American General Corporation (NYSE: AGC) today announced that James S. D'Agostino Jr. has been named senior vice president-administration with responsibility for several parent company functions, including: investor relations, human resources, training and development and systems administration. D'Agostino succeeds Robert D. Womack, who has been named senior vice president-administration for American General's life insurance companies headquartered in Nashville, Tenn.
 D'Agostino, 45, has held several key management positions in the parent company since joining American General in 1986. Most recently he has been serving as senior vice president-investor relations. His prior experience includes 18 years in banking -- the last 10 of which were with Citicorp. D'Agostino received his B.S. degree in economics from Villanova University in 1968 and his J.D. degree from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1974.
 Womack, 48, joined American General Corporation as vice president and tax director in 1990 and was named senior vice president- administration in 1991. Prior to joining American General, Womack was associated for 12 years with KPMG Peat Marwick and was named tax partner of that firm in 1975. He also served as chief financial officer for a Houston-based investment company for eight years. Womack received his B.B.A. from the University of Houston in 1964 and his M.B.A. from the University of Texas in 1966.
