AMERICAN FILTRONA CORPORATION TO DIVEST ITSELF OF DOLLINGER CORPORATION

RICHMOND, Va., Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- American Filtrona Corporation (AFC) (NASDAQ-NMS: AFIL) today announced that it intends to divest itself of Dollinger Corporation, a manufacturer of industrial filtration products.
AFC will continue to focus on long-term growth from its two core businesses -- bonded fiber products and its rapidly growing plastic products segment. The sale of the Dollinger and Technolab product lines will complete the disposition of AFC's industrial filtration business segment. Dollinger operations are profitable, and it is not anticipated that the disposition will result in any charge against earnings.
The divestiture will be handled by the investment banking firm Ewing Monroe & Company.
