AMERICAN BOILER MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION ELECTS OFFICERS; RECOGNIZES DISTINGUISHED INDUSTRY SERVICE AT 105TH ANNUAL MEETING IN ANCHORAGE

 ARLINGTON, Va., July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Boiler Manufacturers Association (ABMA) elected officers at its 105th Annual Meeting recently concluded in Anchorage, Ak.
 Willard B. McBurney was elected president of the association; Frank P. Fagan was elected vice president. Tom Sellers was re-elected as secretary/treasurer of the organization.
 McBurney is president of The McBurney Corporation of Norcross, Ga; Fagan is president of ABB Combustion Engineering, Windsor, Conn.; and Sellers is president of Sellers Engineering Company of Danville, Ky.
 Re-elected for a three-year term on the ABMA Board of Directors were: Albert J. Bishop (Bryan Steam Corporation); Dennie S. Hunt (Henry Vogt Machine Company); J.E. (Jack) Pollock (Babcock & Wilcox Company); and Tom L. Sellers (Sellers Engineering Company).
 Continuing as directors are: Frank P. Fagan (ABB Combustion Engineering); Larry J. Sims (Fintube); H. Kerner Smith (Riley Consolidated, Inc.); James H. White (Coen Company); Willard B. McBurney (The McBurney Corporation); John M. Plant (Cleaver-Brooks Division/Aqua- Chem, Inc.); Roy C. Cuny (Foster Wheeler Energy Corporation); and Roger L. Swanson (National Dynamics Corporation).
 Robert D. Downin, director of product marketing at Fireye Division of Detector Electronics Corporation, Derry, N.H., was elected by members of the ABMA Associate Members Group as the group's chairman, and continues on the ABMA board of directors.
 N.W. Dunlap Jr., vice president of the Power Division of CRS Sirrine Engineers, Inc. was elected as vice chairman of the ABMA Associate Members Group and becomes a member of the ABMA board of directors.
 Also during its 105th Annual Meeting proceedings, the association conferred its coveted Distinguished Service Award (DSA) on former ABMA member Paul Goggins (industrial Boiler Company-retired); Neil Johnson (Detroit Stoker Company-Retired), and on outgoing ABMA President (1991- 1993) H. Kerner Smith (Riley Consolidated Inc.). The AMBA DSA is bestowed only upon individuals employed in the boiler industry for 20 years or more "in recognition for serving faithfully and with distinction and giving freely of (their) time and talent on behalf of the Association."
 Chartered in 1888, the American Boiler Manufacturers Association (ABMA) has played an important role in the growth and development of the boiler manufacturing industry. ABMA is a voluntary, nonprofit U.S. corporation which is the national trade association for the manufacturers of commercial, industrial and utility boilers, the manufacturers of fuel burning equipment, and companies engaged in providing goods and services to those manufacturers. Presently, 86 companies comprise the membership of the ABMA; provision is made for membership for non-U.S. companies. ABMA provides services and publications in the areas of marketing, forecasting, statistics, government relations, technical applications and production-related aspects of the industry. Its primary mission is to promote the common business interests of the industry and to improve its services to the public.
