AMERICAN AUTOMOBILE MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION REPORTS ON PRELIMINARY NEW TRUCK SALES FOR JUNE

 WASHINGTON, July 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Franchised dealers of truck manufacturers sold 517,557 units in June, the highest monthly sales total on record, surpassing the records set in April and May, according to a preliminary report issued today by the American Automobile Manufacturers Association.
 Retail sales for June were 17.6 percent above sales for the month a year ago. There were 26 selling days in this period, the same as a year ago.
 June sales were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5,472,000, a 16 percent increase from the June 1992 seasonally adjusted rate of 4,719,000 units.
