AMERICAN AIRLINES OPENS TERMINAL AT NEW DAYTONA BEACH REGIONAL AIRPORT
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- On Sunday, Oct. 18, American Airlines opens its terminal at the new Daytona Beach Regional Airport, enabling American to offer travelers better service.
Some of the new features at American's terminal include jet bridges -- which allow passengers to move more easily to and from the planes, an exclusive passenger waiting room, twice the previous counter space, and a state-of-the-art baggage system.
American's employees took a personal approach in redesigning their work environment by opting to decorate the terminal in bright, "Florida- like" colors. "Rather than using institutional colors, like gray, we wanted a facility that would showcase American Airlines as unique and individual," said American Airlines general manager in Daytona Beach, Danny Borg. "That's why we have used colorful carpets, tile and wallcoverings that reflect the sunny environment we live in."
The opening of the new Daytona Beach terminal also coincides with the fifth anniversary of American's entry into the Daytona market.
American's Daytona Beach terminal connects passengers with six daily departures to two of the airline's hubs, Miami International Airport (MIA) and Raleigh/Durham in North Carolina.
