AMERICA'S CUP SAILBOAT AT COORS TODAY

AMERICA'S CUP SAILBOAT AT COORS TODAY
GOLDEN, Colo., March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Jayhawk, one of four 75-

foot America(3) boats racing for the right to defend the America's Cup, is on display in Golden at Coors Brewing Co. today, and everyone is invited to see it and sign a good-luck message on the 100-foot Coors Light spinnaker to the crew.
"This is one of the only times anyone -- especially landlocked Coloradans -- gets a chance to see and climb aboard an actual America's Cup race boat," said Paul Leroue, Coors Light assistant brand manager. "It's definitely something to see."
Pete Coors, president of Coors Brewing Co., sailed with the crew late last year during their training. "I had the ride of my life," he said.
Currently America(3) ("America-cubed") leads the other American team, Dennis Conners' Stars & Stripes, in the defender series. Defender trials to select one American contender began in January and will conclude in April. The best-of-seven America's Cup final match races will begin May 9.
Coors Light made a significant donation to support America(3) Foundation's quest for the America's Cup, making Coors the first beer company to join the Cup effort in 1992.
The 141-year-old America's Cup is the premier yachting event and the oldest sports trophy in the world. The 1992 competition has attracted a field of international players from Italy, France, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Spain and Sweden.
The Jayhawk is docked at the main brewery entrance at 12th and Ford streets and can be seen today until 6 p.m. and tomorrow morning until 11 a.m.
