: TER Third version. See bis. ) today announced that Advanced Micro Devices (AMD (Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., Sunnyvale, CA, www.amd.com) A major manufacturer of semiconductor devices including x86-compatible CPUs, embedded processors, flash memories, programmable logic devices and networking chips. ) is evaluating an e-diagnostics solution for Teradyne's latest semiconductor test products. When integrated into Teradyne testers, e-diagnostics technology will enable Teradyne field and factory engineers to provide real-time, online service and applications support to its customers. As a result, chipmakers will be able to attain such benefits as increased test system availability and faster production ramp through more efficient development and transfer of test programs.

Teradyne's eConnectNET program enables Teradyne technical experts to remotely access Teradyne testers at customer sites and operate them in real-time to diagnose and resolve problems when they occur. This is accomplished through a secure, on-line connection that is controlled by the customer at all times. eConnectNET increases tester uptime, enabling customers to achieve significantly lower tester cost of ownership, as well as higher test efficiency--two critical issues facing both integrated device manufacturers and fabless subcontractors.
