:AMD) today marked the second anniversary of the award-winning AMD Athlon(TM) processor by announcing that its new 1.1GHz mobile AMD Athlon 4 and 900MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. AMD is currently shipping AMD Duron processors for desktops to customers and expects system availability later in the third quarter. Widespread availability in U.S. retail channels is expected in conjunction with the upcoming Microsoft Windows XP launch in October.

Pricing

About the Mobile AMD Athlon(TM) 4 Processor

The mobile AMD Athlon 4 processor features a new lower power design for notebook computing, 384 KB of on-chip, full-speed cache with hardware data pre-fetch (256KB of on-chip level (L2) cache and 128 Kbytes of on-chip level (L1) cache), a superscalar A CPU architecture that allows more than one instruction to be executed in one clock cycle.
