AMD GAINS MAJOR ENTERPRISE DESIGN WIN WITH MAXDATA -- GERMAN OEM TO OFFER AMD PROCESSOR-BASED COMPUTERS.

Germany's third largest computer manufacturer MAXDATA plans to carry both AMD (Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., Sunnyvale, CA, www.amd.com) A major manufacturer of semiconductor devices including x86-compatible CPUs, embedded processors, flash memories, programmable logic devices and networking chips.  Athlon and AMD Duron processors in systems targeting enterprise and small business users in Germany. With this design win, another important European OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  that services the enterprise market has chosen AMD processors.

"This is truly a significant win for AMD, because it demonstrates confidence in AMD technology for use in business enterprises. I am very happy that MAXDATA is joining the growing ranks of our commercial partners in Europe," said Giuliano Meroni, vice president, Sales and Marketing Europe. AMD continues to work on penetrating this important segment of the market, not only in Europe but also in other regions of the world. When it comes to meeting the needs of enterprise, AMD means business."

MAXDATA is one of Germany's most successful manufacturers of business PCs with thousands of resellers covering the office computing needs for top 500 German companies.

"MAXDATA's longstanding experience and its highly qualified customer base among large and mid-size companies provides AMD with an another opportunity to enter the commercial market," said Jochen Polster, managing director of AMD Germany. "We want to build on our success with the AMD Athlon and AMD Duron processors. We believe that the cooperation between MAXDATA and AMD will be an important factor in expanding AMD's penetration into the enterprise market."

"We are convinced that the PC systems equipped with AMD processors are a great addition to our product portfolio, and that they will open completely new markets to us," said Joachim Gut, member of the managing board of MAXDATA. "AMD Athlon and AMD Duron processors offer an excellent price-performance-ratio that we will pass on to our customers. With AMD processors, we'll continue to offer our partners and customers the hand-tailored solutions that they expect from us."

PCs are expected to be available in January from MAXDATA's Build-to-Order program, and in their complete system lines of high-reliability network PCs for business applications as well as PCs for home use.
