AMD Founder and Chairman Honored by Technology Community; Jerry Sanders Inducted into Industry Hall of Fame; Receives PC Magazine Lifetime Achievement Award.

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 4, 2002

Jerry Sanders, AMD (NYSE: AMD) founder and chairman, was recently recognized by leading publications for his achievements and contributions to the high-tech industry. In separate ceremonies at COMDEX Fall 2002, Sanders received the 2002 Lifetime Achievement Award from PC Magazine and was inducted into the Industry Hall of Fame co-hosted by CRN, COMDEX and the Computer History Museum.

"I am truly honored to be recognized by the Industry Hall of Fame, because of the respect I have for CRN as the distinguished voice of our industry, and the exalted company in which I find myself," said Sanders.

"It is personally gratifying to have been singled out for excellence by PC Magazine, the respected authority on technology and innovation," continued Sanders. "This lifetime achievement award is a testament to the efforts of AMD employees worldwide."

Established in 1997, the CRN Industry Hall of Fame recognizes and honors individuals that have transformed the technology industry with new ideas, revolutionary concepts and ingenious technology. Industry Hall of Fame inductees are hand-selected by the CRN editorial staff.

PC Magazine presents its Lifetime Achievement Award annually to an individual who has done the most to change how people use technology. Sanders was named the 2002 winner at the publication's nineteenth annual Awards for Technical Excellence.
