South Asia, also known as Southern Asia
 Pacific. In this capacity, Krystofik will be responsible for all sales, marketing, and business development activities in AMD's South Asia Pacific region. He will report to Henri Richard Joseph Henri Richard (born February 29, 1936 in Montreal, Quebec) is a former professional ice hockey player who played centre with the Montreal Canadiens in the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1955 to 1975. , AMD group vice president of Worldwide Sales.

Krystofik will also lead the relocation of AMD's South Asia Pacific headquarters -- currently located in Hong Kong Hong Kong (hŏng kŏng), Mandarin Xianggang, special administrative region of China, formerly a British crown colony (2005 est. pop. 6,899,000), land area 422 sq mi (1,092 sq km), adjacent to Guangdong prov.  -- to Shanghai, the industrial center of China. AMD Shanghai will become the company's South Asia Pacific headquarters effective October 1, 2002. AMD will retain offices in Hong Kong.

Krystofik most recently served as AMD's Director of Strategy and Business Development for China. In this capacity, he was responsible for developing strategies and cross-functional business plans for AMD, including Microprocessors, embedded microprocessors and Flash memory devices in an effort to build AMD's market share in China.

Prior to joining AMD, Krystofik developed Motorola's Asian paging systems operations. He has spent most of his career working in and around Asia, with a concentration on China since 1991. Krystofik's semiconductor experience has focused on microprocessor products, Fast Static RAM A fast memory technology that requires power to hold its content. Static RAM (SRAM, S-RAM) is used for high-speed registers, caches and relatively small memory banks such as a frame buffer on a display adapter. , and EEprom for Motorola and SGS SGS Société Générale de Surveillance
