:AMD), a global manufacturer of high-performance PC processors and flash memory devices, today announced that it is sponsoring pro golfers Chris DiMarco Christian Dean DiMarco (born August 23, 1968) is an American golfer who plays on the PGA Tour, and has been in the top 10 of the Official World Golf Rankings.

DiMarco was born in Huntington, New York. He attended University of Florida and turned professional in 1990.
 and Brian Gay Joseph Brian Gay (born December 14, 1971) is an American professional golfer.

Gay was born in Fort Worth, Texas. He plays on the PGA Tour, and has never won a tournament, although he has finished second on two occasions.
 on the newly formed AMD "Extreme Performance" golf team.

DiMarco is off to a great start in 2002, winning the Phoenix Open while finishing fifth in the Mercedes Championships and sixth in the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic The Bob Hope Chrysler Classic is a professional golf tournament played each January in California's Coachella Valley. Part of the PGA Tour's early season West Coast Swing, this tournament is well known for its celebrity pro-am, as well as having five daily 18-hole rounds of .

Gay, who finished among the top 10 five times in 2001, agreed with DiMarco about working with AMD.

"Just as AMD makes high-performing PC processors, including the AMD Athlon(tm) XP, I plan to play high-performance golf on the PGA TOUR this year," Gay said.

The two golfers will sport the AMD corporate logo on their golf shirts while playing this year in PGA TOUR events around the world.
