AMCC to Premiere 10G Packet-Over-Glass Capability, Showcase PCI Express(R) Device and Demonstrate Video-Over-GPON Technology at OFC/NFOEC.
What: AMCC will showcase three separate demonstrations featuring
technology-proven devices within the company's solution
portfolio.
Demonstration I -- GPON
U.S. RBOCs and many international carriers are endorsing the ITU G.984
GPON standard as the access technology of choice for delivering
advanced video services in the near future. AMCC will demonstrate
Video over GPON technology by leveraging its expertise in PHY, FEC,
Traffic Management and PowerPC technologies. Delivering a GPON chip
set that minimizes external component count will allow system
designers to build the most cost competitive solution in the market
place.
Demonstration II -- Packet-Over-Glass and 10G EDC Capability
With the penetration of Ethernet into the WAN infrastructure, systems
suppliers are looking at ways to transport IP directly on fibre. While
VCAT and LCAS allow for this capability, they depend on the existence
of the SONET/SDH infrastructure. AMCC will demonstrate the Packet Over
Glass (POG) capability utilizing its industry leading FEC and MAC
technology, allowing Metro-ENET switch and router suppliers to realize
telecom-ready extended reach connections. EDC based XFP offerings are
key for flexible and cost-effective metro and regional transport
solutions.
Demonstration III -- PCI Express(R)
As the extended reach PCI Express market continues to grow, so do
customers' design requirements for flexible, high-performance devices.
Targeted for emerging extended reach PCI Express applications, the
high performance features of the S5543 are designed to transparently
improve signal quality and maintain and ensure signal integrity
between two nodes, providing customers with unprecedented levels of
quality and flexibility in a PCI Express based system. AMCC will
demonstrate the functionality of the S5543, as well the device's
re-timing and signal equalization capabilities over PCI Express
cables.
When: Exhibits will be open Tuesday, March 7 through
Thursday, March 9
Exhibit hours:
Tuesday, March 7 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Wednesday, March 8 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Thursday, March 9 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
