Heenan previously served as the vice president of operations for AMCC's Switching and Network Processing Group. In this new position, Heenan will be responsible for global supply management, all production activities for external foundries, business and production control planning, and procurement at a corporate level. Heenan, who will be based out of the San Diego San Diego (săn dēā`gō), city (1990 pop. 1,110,549), seat of San Diego co., S Calif., on San Diego Bay; inc. 1850. San Diego includes the unincorporated communities of La Jolla and Spring Valley. Heenan joined AMCC in 2000 through the acquisition of MMC See MultiMediaCard and Microsoft Management Console.  Networks, where he had served as vice president of operations. During this time, Heenan led business negotiations and supervised all manufacturing operations for the company.

Prior to joining MMC Networks, Heenan was the director of test operations at Cirrus Logic Inc., where he managed over 200 employees and was responsible for worldwide manufacturing test operations with overall revenue of almost $1 billion. Before his tenure at Cirrus Logic, Heenan has held various engineering positions at Signetics Corp. Heenan holds a B.S. in materials engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, at Troy, N.Y.; coeducational; founded and opened 1824 as Rensselaer School; chartered 1826. It was called Rensselaer Institute from 1837 to 1861.  and a M.S. in engineering management from Santa Clara University.
