) (Nasdaq:AMCC) today announced that market research firm The Linley Group again ranked AMCC No. 1 worldwide in the sale of network processors for 2003, stating that AMCC, "contributed the most absolute dollars to the market's growth." AMCC continues to gain marketshare year over year, resulting in a substantial 23% lead over the next ranked network processing unit Network Processing Unit or NPU is an array of one or more Central processing unit (CPU) whose instructions are specialized to handle networking-related functions.
