AMC Whitby 24 Grand Opening Will Feature Screening of Mansfield Park.

WHITBY, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 1, 1999--

AMC Theatres will host a charity gala on Tuesday, Nov. 23, in conjunction with the grand opening of a 24-screen megaplex theatre in Whitby. The gala will benefit Big Brothers of Oshawa & Whitby and Big Sisters of Oshawa, Whitby & Clarington, which have been helping at-risk young people find caring, adult mentors for nearly 100 years.

The AMC Whitby 24, scheduled to open Nov. 24 at Highway 401 and Thickson Road, will be the latest innovative example of the megaplex concept developed by AMC.

Doors will open for the benefit gala at 6 p.m. Nov. 23, at the AMC Whitby 24. Guests will enjoy:

The AMC Whitby 24 will be Canada's fifth AMC megaplex theatre. The AMC Winston Churchill 24 in Oakville, Ontario, and the AMC Kennedy Commons 20 in Scarborough opened in December 1998.
