AMC Theatres To Open Second Megaplex in Spain.

MADRID, Spain--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 9, 1999--

AMC Theatres will host two gala parties to celebrate the grand opening Dec. 17 of a 24-screen megaplex theatre in Las Rozas de Madrid.

The AMC Madrid-Las Rozas 24, the latest innovative example of the megaplex concept developed by AMC, is located at the junction of the A6 and M50 motorways in Las Rozas, an upscale residential area under development in northwest Madrid.

The AMC Madrid-Las Rozas 24 will anchor Europe's first Heron City, an integrated entertainment centre with more than 250,000 square feet of leisure, retail and restaurant outlets on an 800,000-square-foot tract of land. The megaplex is located on the main plaza of Heron City, which recreates the vibrant atmosphere of a Spanish town centre with promenades animated by fountains, light shows, live music and street theatre.

Before the AMC Madrid-Las Rozas 24 opens to the public Dec. 17, the megaplex will host two special opening events:

-- Dec. 15, 7:30 p.m. - A party sponsored by Telefonica, the largest

telephone company in Spain, featuring a premiere screening of The

Sixth Sense (Buena Vista). The 3,500 invited guests include

winners from a television game show and 1,000 VIPs invited by

Telefonica.

-- Dec. 16, 8 p.m. - A VIP party co-hosted by the project's

developer, Heron, featuring a premiere screening of Anna and the

King (Fox). The 400 guests include city and local government

officials and executives from the Spanish film community, the

real estate industry and AMC's sponsors, Telefonica, Coca-Cola

and Nestle.

The AMC Madrid-Las Rozas 24 is the second AMC megaplex in Spain. The first, the AMC Parc Valles 24 in Terrassa, Barcelona, opened in October 1998.

The AMC megaplex is at the leading edge of theatre design, offering moviegoers the finest customer amenities and the most dynamic screen presentation available, along with a greater choice of films and viewing times.
