AMC River Park Square 20 Megaplex to Open With Benefit for Local Charity; Gala Aug. 19 Benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters.

AMC Theatres is teaming up with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Spokane County to benefit young people in need of caring, adult mentors, in conjunction with the grand opening of a 20-screen megaplex theatre on Friday, Aug. 20.

The AMC River Park Square 20, the latest, state-of-the-art example of the megaplex concept developed by AMC, will host a gala on Thursday, Aug. 19, as a benefit for the local Big Brothers Big Sisters agency. The festival also offers Spokane moviegoers their first look at the stadium seating and other amenities in 14 of the megaplex's 20 auditoriums. The six remaining auditoriums are scheduled to open in summer 2000.

Doors will open for the benefit gala at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 19, at the megaplex at Main and Post in downtown Spokane. Guests will enjoy:

state-of-the-art sight and sound presentation of the AMC

megaplex.
