In March of 1998, the theater was literally picked up and moved 168 feet to the west, to its new home on 42nd St and 8th Avenue. All of Lambs' original pieces from the theater have been fully restored, successfully lifted, and moved and preserved for the original theatre's new role as the grand entrance and Lobby for the AMC Empire 25. AMC Empire 25 is a landmark in that it will have 25 screens (the most ever in Manhattan), with a total of 4,916 seats, which include AMC's new LoveSeat (R), plush, high-backed, double-wide seats. The theater will contain a full-service restaurant, full-service alcohol bar, four concession stands with a total of 38 selling stations, and 10 ticket selling stations, with a "Will Call" station at Guest Services, to speed patrons to their seats. Also unique to the AMC Empire 25, there be an entire floor devoted to art-house movies, making the theatre accessible to all moviegoers.
