AMC Delivers a Seven-film Veteran's Day Salute On November 11 and 12.

On Sunday, November 11, and Monday, November 12, AMC salutes our nations' veterans with a two-part festival of seven World War II films that commemorate the courage and confidence of American soldiers. The two-day line-up features compelling historical dramas and battle-packed action films including FAT MAN AND LITTLE BOY, starring Paul Newman; FLYING TIGERS and BACK TO BATAAN, with John Wayne; and TO THE SHORES OF TRIPOLI, starring John Payne, Maureen O'Hara and Randolph Scott.

AMC's Veteran's Day festival begins at 8:00 PM (ET) on Sunday, November 11, with FAT MAN AND LITTLE BOY (1989), a historical drama about The Manhattan Project to invent the atomic bomb. The story focuses on the contentious relationship between Paul Newman as the military commander in charge of the project and Dwight Schultz as J. Robert Oppenheimer, the brilliant physicist who engineered the bomb. Following, at 10:45 PM (ET), Cliff Robertson stars as Lieutenant John F. Kennedy in the World War II naval story PT 109 (1963), based on actual events. The future President shows leadership and courage when the Japanese sink their ship in the Pacific. Robert Culp co-stars.

The Veterans Day festival continues on AMC at 8:05 AM (ET) on Monday, November 12, with FLYING TIGERS (1942). John Wayne stars as commander of a group of volunteer American fighter pilots who fought the Japanese in China. John Carroll co-stars as a hot-shot pilot who wants Wayne's command - and his girl. The film was nominated for three Academy Awards(R), including Best Special Effects for its exciting dogfight scenes. At 10:00 AM, Tyrone Power is a naval officer who organizes a band of resisters after the fall of the Philippines to the Japanese in AN AMERICAN GUERRILLA IN THE PHILIPPINES (1950). Tom Ewell co-stars.

In TO THE SHORES OF TRIPOLI (1942), at 12:00 PM (ET), John Payne is a Marine recruit with a bad attitude and a thing for Maureen O'Hara, an off-limits officer. Randolph Scott is the sergeant who must get him and the other recruits into shape. Following, at 1:45 PM (ET), BACK TO BATAAN (1945) stars John Wayne and Anthony Quinn leading a band of Filipino guerillas in a victorious battle against the Japanese.

AMC concludes the Veterans Day festival at 3:30 PM (ET) with FLYING LEATHERNECKS (1951). Marine officer John Wayne encounters resistance to his tough brand of leadership, but proves there's a method to his madness when his squadron of fighter pilots, The Wildcats, are triumphant in the historic battle of Guadalcanal. Robert Ryan and Janis Carter co-star.
