AMC Celebrates Halloween Early With the Monster Movie Madness Festival October 1-5.

AMC conjures up the Halloween spirit early with five consecutive nights of classic horror movies.

The "Monster Movie Madness" film festival, airing from Monday, October 1, to Friday, October 5, showcases five performances that have defined movie monsters ever since Bela 1 First king of Edom.

AMC's "Monster Movie Madness" festival begins on Monday, October 1, at 12:15 AM (ET) with DRACULA (1931). Bela Lugosi is the quintessential Count who put Transylvania Transylvania (trăn'sĭlvā`nyə), Rom. Transilvania or Ardeal, Hung. Erdély, Ger. Siebenbürgen, historic region and province (21,292 sq mi/55,146 sq km), central Romania. on the map in the horror classic directed by Tod Browning. On Tuesday, October 2, at 12:15 AM (ET) Boris Karloff sets the standard for Mary Shelley's monster in FRANKENSTEIN (1931). His wordless performance of grunts GRUNTS - Popular Slang for Infantry and body language steals the show from co-star Colin Clive as Dr. Frankenstein. Mae Clarke co-stars.

The "Monster Movie Madness" festival continues on AMC with THE WOLF MAN (1941), airing on Wednesday, October 3, at 12:00 AM (ET). Lon Chaney, Jr. comes to dread the rising of the full moon after he's cursed by the bite of werewolf werewolf: see lycanthropy. Lugosi and hunted down by a posse that includes his unbelieving father, Claude Rains. Ralph Bellamy co-stars. On Thursday, October 4, at 12:30 AM (ET), Karloff seals his legacy as a horror film master in THE MUMMY (1932). A young archeologist on a dig in Egypt unwittingly brings the 3,700-year-old mummy of Prince Imhotep back to life, unleashing years of pent-up hostility.

AMC concludes "Monster Movie Madness" on Friday, October 5, at 12:30 AM with CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON (1954). On an Amazon expedition, Richard Carlson captures an amphibious human that lives underwater, the Gil-Man. When the creature inevitably escapes, he heads straight for the woman he loves - his captor's fiance. Julie Adams co-stars.
