AMC rings in 2002 in the Big Apple with Donald Trump, Whoopi Goldberg, Joan Rivers, the New York City Fire Department, Governor George Pataki and other local celebrities during the "New Year's in New York" festival.

Starting at 2:00 PM (ET) on New Years Eve, December 31, and continuing through 8:00 PM (ET) New Year's Day, January 1, the city that never sleeps is featured in a star-studded movie marathon including DESPERATELY SEEKING SUSAN, starring Madonna and Rosanna Arquette; AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER, with Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr; REAR WINDOW, starring James Stewart and Grace Kelly; BRIGHTON BEACH MEMOIRS, with Jonathan Silverman and Blythe Danner; RAGING BULL, starring Robert DeNiro; and MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET, with Maureen O'Hara and Natalie Wood.

Joining in the celebration will be an array of New York celebrities. Billy Baldwin, Dennis Franz, Edward Burns, Donald Trump, Joan Rivers, George Hamilton and the cast of "Chicago," Whoopi Goldberg, Judge Judy, Maury Povich, Camryn Manheim, the New York City Fire Department, baseball great Al Leiter and New York Governor George Pataki will be on hand for the festivities.

AMC's "New Year's in New York festival begins at 2:00 PM (ET) on Monday, December 31, with REAR WINDOW (1954), Alfred Hitchcock's homage to New York voyeurism. Other highlights of the festival include THE POPE OF GREENWICH VILLAGE (1984), THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE (1962) and LOVE AT FIRST BITE (1979) as well as two episodes of AMC's original series BACKSTORY, chronicling the films MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET and AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER.
