AMBLING LITTLE BEAR LURED FROM BIG PIPE GAME WARDENS TAKE CUB INTO FOREST.

WESTLAKE VILLAGE -- A black bear cub that has been spotted frequently the past few days scampering in the hills above the Agoura-Westlake Village area was captured Friday evening after hiding for hours in a storm drain storm drain

The cub was seen Friday morning just north of the Ventura Freeway The Ventura Freeway is a freeway in southern California running from Ventura to Pasadena. It is the principal east-west route through Ventura County and in the southern San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles County.  near Lake Lindero, at Lake Crest Drive and Canwood Street in Agoura Hills. It ran through a field by the freeway into Westlake Village and into a 3-foot-diameter drainage pipe that runs underground past two large office buildings under construction.

``I've lived here 30 years and never seen anything like this,'' said Tara Young, who lives nearby.

``He was up in the hills by our house,'' said her daughter, Shaeli, 5, who was worried the cub had lost its mother.

The concrete storm drain near the Ventura Freeway was covered at both ends with chain-link fencing fencing, sport of dueling with foil, épée, and saber. Modern Fencing

A larger bear was seen in Westlake Village on April 27 and tranquilized two days later in nearby Newbury Park before it was released into the forest. Officials said the cub caught Friday might have been the same one that had been seen last weekend in the area.
