AMBANC Corp. announces new bank construction in Terre Haute.


VINCENNES, Ind.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 22, 1997--Robert G. Watson, Chairman, President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of AmBank Indiana, N.A., announced the construction of a new branch facility in Terre Haute, Indiana Terre Haute (IPA: [ˌtɛยทɹə ˈhoʊt]) is a city in Vigo County, Indiana near the state's western border with Illinois. . The new facility will be located at 126 South Third Street.

In making the announcement Watson stated, "We are very excited about our second facility in the Terre Haute Terre Haute (tĕr`ə hōt, tĕr`ē hŭt), city (1990 pop. 51,483), seat of Vigo co., W Ind., on the Wabash River; inc. 1816.  market. Our first location inside the Wal-Mart supercenter has been very successful. It has been our intention to create a flagship bank in Terre Haute for a long time. We feel the economic climate of the area and the potential for growth warrants our investment at this time." Watson further stated, "This will certainly let the people of Terre Haute know what our commitment level is to the community. This expansion also fits into our long term strategy of growth for the bank, and more importantly to our shareholders."

Construction is expected to begin immediately following regulatory approval. It is anticipated that the facility will be open for business in the first quarter of 1998.

AmBank Indiana, N.A. currently has 15 branches located within Knox, Gibson, Vigo, Greene and Vanderburgh counties. AmBank recently announced the May 21, 1997, opening of a new facility located within the new Wal-Mart Supercenter in Evansville, Indiana
