AM's pledge to find polio project cash.


A NORTH WALES North Wales (known in some archaic texts as Northgalis) is the northernmost unofficial region of Wales, bordered to the south by Mid Wales and to the east by England.  politician has agreed to help identify any possible sources of funding to help sufferers of Post Polio Syndrome.

At a meeting with the Welsh region of the British Polio Fellowship British Polio Fellowship is a British medical research charity with around 9,000 members dedicated to the curing of polio. It publishes a periodical Bulletin. See also

, Mark Isherwood Mark Isherwood, born 1959, is a Conservative member of the National Assembly for Wales for the region of North Wales. He is the son of Liberal Democrat politician Rodney Isherwood.  AM said he was shocked to hear that of the 120,000 people in Britain who had polio, it is estimated that 12,000 are in Wales - and many more are unaware they have the condition.

Mark Isherwood An action plan is being developed to try to contact people who have had polio and may now be experiencing PPS (Packets Per Second) The measurement of activity in a local area network (LAN). In LANs such as Ethernet, Token Ring and FDDI, as well as the Internet, data is broken up and transmitted in packets (frames), each with a source and destination address. .

"They have established an expert panel which has come up with an agreed definition for Post Polio Syndrome and have found that some of the most disenfranchised and disadvantaged are in Wales, made worse by the big issue of deep rural isolation," said Mr Isherwood.
