A look at the performances of area graduates during Week 2 of the college football season:

Dan Lazarovits, Cal State Northridge: The former Taft High defensive lineman recorded 10 unassisted tackles, including three straight for losses to open the second half, against Hawaii.

Brett Nordyke, Cal State Northridge: The former Crespi defensive lineman had two quarterback sacks against Hawaii.

Jeremy Golden, Cal State Northridge:The former Westlake High defensive back, only a freshman, returned an interception 65 yards for a touchdown against Hawaii. He finished with 10 tackles.

Carlos Baker Carlos Baker (May 5, 1909 – April 18, 1987) was the Woodrow Wilson Professor of Literature at Princeton University. He earned his B.A. , M.A. and Ph.D at Dartmouth, Harvard, and Princeton respectively. , UNLV UNLV University of Nevada, Las Vegas : The former Burbank High wide receiver caught two passes for 78 yards against Nevada.

Billy Miller, USC An abbreviation for U.S. Code. :The former Westlake High wide receiver caught eight passes for 56 yards against Florida State.
