Applied Language Technologies, Inc. (ALTech), the leading provider of conversational speech recognition technology and products for over-the-telephone solutions, today announced that Charlie Rutledge has joined ALTech as the company's new vice president of its Solution Services group. Mr. Rutledge comes to ALTech with an extensive background in IT systems development, most recently with Andersen Consulting See Accenture. .

In his new position, Mr. Rutledge is responsible for delivering custom speech applications to clients using ALTech's comprehensive speech recognition software, SpeechWorksTM. He will oversee all customer projects, ensuring that the solutions and services each client receives during the development process exceed expectations. Charlie Rutledge held several management positions in his five years with Andersen Consulting where he was responsible for both systems implementation and IT strategy development for a number of Andersen's key clients in finance, insurance, health care and retailing. Prior to joining Andersen, Mr. Rutledge was vice president of Ipswich Bay Software and managed data and telecommunications at Exxon Chemical and Marathon Oil Marathon Oil Corporation NYSE: MRO, based in Houston, Texas, is a worldwide oil and natural gas exploration and production company.
