ALTS Names Alan Stiffler as Vice President of Association Affairs; Nation's Leading Competitive Local Telecom Association Also Announces Key Promotions.

The Association for Local Telecommunications Services In telecommunication, the term telecommunications service has the following meanings:

), the leading national organization representing facilities-based local telecommunications competitors, today announced the appointment of Alan Stiffler as its new Vice President of Association Affairs.

Stiffler, a veteran telecommunications executive with 12 years of industry experience, will be responsible for interacting with the telecom industry, enhancing ALTS' membership and managing ALTS' roster of trade shows, conferences and educational seminars.

ALTS also announced the promotion of Jonathan Askin from the position of Vice President of Law to that of General Counsel, and of Kim Kirby from the position of Director of State Regulatory Affairs Regulatory Affairs (RA), also called Government Affairs, is a profession within regulated industries, such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, energy, and banking. Regulatory Affairs professionals usually have responsibility for the following general areas:
 to that of Vice President of State Affairs. As General Counsel, Jonathan Askin will be responsible for all of ALTS' legal affairs, while as Vice President of State Affairs, Kim Kirby will be responsible for all state regulatory issues.
