ALTAR EGO HOFFMAN BACK IN 'GRADUATE' SCHOOL FOR AD.

 did some post-``Graduate'' work Wednesday at the scene of his first breakthrough movie, frantically rushing to catch a bride at the altar of the United Methodist Church United Methodist Church, in the United States, religious body formed by the union in 1968 of the Evangelical United Brethren Church and the Methodist Church (see Methodism).  for the second time in nearly four decades.

Reprising his role from ``The Graduate,'' - this time for a car commercial - the actor burst into the church and pounded on its glass window just in time to interrupt the exchange of vows.

Through hours of takes and breaks, Hoffman and a small army of extras in their Sunday best worked to reconstruct the 1967 film's memorable final scene at the original La Verne location.

``I'm happier today than I was 35 years ago,'' said Hoffman.
