ALT Software is very pleased to announce it will provide OpenGL(R) and OpenGL ES solutions and comprehensive, professional software development, hardware design prototypes and support services for Freescale Semiconductor's MPC5200B processor and Media5200 development kit.

Automotive and telematics display manufacturers seeking highest-performance 2D/3D hardware accelerated embedded graphics solutions for in-vehicle navigation, infotainment and industrial controls can now combine ALT's industry-leading expertise in embedded OpenGL platform design with Freescale's MPC5200B processor and their choice of high-quality graphics chips.

As part of the collaboration, ALT will provide Freescale with demonstration software to ship with every Media5200 development kit. This demonstration software will highlight the MPC5200B's advanced capabilities while enabling developers to create content-rich applications.

As part of their leadership roles in the evolution of the embedded graphics market, both ALT and Freescale are active participants in the development and deployment of OpenGL ES, the new, royalty-free, cross-platform API for full-function 2D and 3D graphics on embedded systems. It is a well-defined subset of the OpenGL desktop API, creating a flexible and powerful low-level interface between software and graphics acceleration.
