ALSTOM Alstom (formerly GEC-Alsthom) (Euronext: ALO) is a large French multinational conglomerate whose businesses are power generation, railway signalling; and manufacturing trains (e.g. the TGV and Eurostar as well as Citadis trams) and the world's largest ships (e.g. , a French energy and infrastructure company, will pay US$1.2 billion to buy Swiss engineering company ABB's stake in the ABB-Alstom Power generation joint venture, which has several key projects in Latin America Latin America, the Spanish-speaking, Portuguese-speaking, and French-speaking countries (except Canada) of North America, South America, Central America, and the West Indies. .
