ALRENCO REPORTS RECORD RESULTS FOR FIRST QUARTER 1996.

Net earnings increased 404% for the quarter to $701,000, or $0.18 per share on 4.0 million shares outstanding, from $139,000, or $0.04 per share on 3.1 million shares outstanding, for the first quarter of 1995. The 28% increase in weighted average shares outstanding is a result of Alrenco's public offering of 1.8 million shares of common stock in January January: see month.  1996.
