as a significant development in the evolution of the corporate computing world.

Explains Genny Ortegon, vice president of marketing for ALR: "Our multiprocessor Pentium and Pentium Pro chip-based systems demand the power of a true multithreaded multithreaded - multithreading , 32-bit operating system. Windows NT Workstation 4.0 delivers this power with a level of user friendliness that was previously unavailable in such a high-end operating system. As a result, more mainstream corporate users will now be able to take full advantage of our award-winning Evolution and Revolution systems."

"We're excited that ALR has adopted Windows NT Workstation 4.0 as its new standard for today's business customers," said Jonathan Roberts, director of desktop marketing at Microsoft. "We are pleased that ALR shares our belief that Windows NT Workstation 4.0 is an important milestone in the evolution of Windows."

ALR cites several key features of the new operating system that make it an ideal complement to the company's high-end systems. In addition to continued support for multiple processors in Windows NT Workstation, the new operating system offers the Microsoft Windows 95 user interface, easier network integration, better graphics performance, and improved drivers for third-party hardware.

Adds Ortegon, "These new advances make Windows NT Workstation 4.0 an ideal companion for the critical, 32-bit computing environments addressed by our systems."

ALR will offer Windows NT Workstation 4.0 as a factory-installed option on several popular systems, including the ALR Optima, ALR Evolution 5 series, ALR Evolution Dual6, and the ALR Revolution server series. Availability is slated for mid-August. ALR also plans to explore hardware and software bundles incorporating the new OS as market demand increases.
