move in the low-cost desktop arena," states Genny Ortegon, vice president of marketing at ALR. "The new ALR OPTIMA SL's are the first Pentium processor-based desktop PCs to enter the sub $1,000 price range normally associated with 486-class PCs," Ortegon said.

The development of the ALR OPTIMA SL was fueled by the changing needs of today's business users. New applications and 32-bit operating environments such as Microsoft Windows(R) 95 and Windows NT have increased the minimum performance level required for efficient business operation.

Ortegon states, "The sole dilemma customers had in purchasing Pentium systems before was price. With the new ALR OPTIMA SL, ALR customers will have an affordable solution to the higher processing demands of today's applications. With its 75-MHz Pentium processor, the ALR OPTIMA SL delivers twice the CPU CPU

performance of a 486DX2/66 system.(a) This performance is markedly noticeable when running next generation operating systems."

The ALR OPTIMA SL line is especially suitable for business users looking for a cost effective way to increase worker productivity. The system comes with a 75- or 90-MHz Pentium processor, integrated PCI (1) (Payment Card Industry) See PCI DSS.

video and disk controller and a variety of options to meet customers' exact system needs.

Additionally, ALR offers base models (Model 1) that provide a minimum configuration for resellers and VARs who prefer to build-up to their customers' requirements. For customers requiring a total solution, bundled models (Models 540B and 850B) include popular options such as hard drives and software.

All ALR systems come standard with one of the industry's most comprehensive warranty package, the ALR 5/36 warranty. This includes five years for system component parts and thirty-six months for peripheral parts and associated labor. On-site warranty is free for the first year with an additional two years option. As with all ALR systems, there is free lifetime technical support available directly through ALR factory (800)444-4ALR; the ALR Bulletin Board Service (BBS (1) (Bulletin Board System) A computer system used as an information source and forum for a particular interest group.
