The new systems, available in June, are targeted towards general purpose corporate, government, and education environments.

Featuring a starting list price of $1,795, the ALR Optima2 Pentium II-based systems combine the power of the Pentium Pro processor with the capabilities of MMX technology. It delivers higher levels of performance for advanced media and communications platforms, making the ALR Optima2 Series systems the ideal corporate solution for 32-bit compute-intensive and multimedia-enhanced applications optimized for MMX technology.

ALR's Optima2 Series corporate desktop products feature 233-MHz, 266-MHz or 300-MHz (available in Q3 '97) Intel Pentium II processors (with 512-KB of L2 cache memory). The ALR Optima2 provides up to six storage bays and up to five expansion slots. It comes standard with 16-MB EDO Edo: see Tokyo, Japan.  (Extended Data Out) RAM expandable to 256-MB.

Integrated features include an STB See set-top box.

The ALR Optima2 233-MHz model has a starting list price of $1,795 while the ALR Optima2 266-MHz model has a starting list price of $2,095. A 300-MHz model of the ALR Optima2 will be available in the third quarter of 1997.
