ALPNET announces agreement to acquire Computype.SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 7, 1997--ALPNET Inc. An ALPNET spokesperson indicated Computype had revenues in its most recently completed year of 900,000 British pounds (approximately USDLR$1.5 million) and is being purchased for 300,000 British pounds (approximately USDLR$500,000) in cash, most of which will be bank financed. In making the announcement, Thomas F. Seal, ALPNET president and chief executive officer stated, "We are pleased to announce that ALPNET and the owners of Computype have reached this agreement, which we expect to be completed in the next 60 days. "Computype has been a well respected specialty provider of East European, Middle Eastern, and Oriental Desktop Publishing and Pre-Press services in the U.K. for 20 years. It has been a quality provider of services to ALPNET and many others in the U.K., and will be a very synergistic addition to the ALPNET group of companies. "We expect to ultimately leverage the services and capabilities of Computype throughout the entire ALPNET worldwide network, to improve our capability in these increasingly important languages." Seal continued by stating, "ALPNET management expects after integration and consolidation, Computype will return 7-9 percent on its revenues to the worldwide ALPNET group. In addition we expect that ALPNET will implement its TSS See ITU. technology in Computype in order to reduce cost and increase productivity, which we believe will further add to this return. Computype has a solid production model and capability, which we believe will be further improved by the use of our TSS technology."
