ALPINE EXPLORATION ADDS TO ITS PRECIOUS METALS EXPLORATION PORTFOLIO WITH THE OPTION ON A PROPERTY IN THE MINERAL RICH AREA OF CANADA'S NORTHERN BRITISH COLUMBIA.

VANCOUVER, B.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 1, 1995--The option of a 3.9 square mile gold-silver-copper-lead-zinc property, some 40 miles northwest of Stewart, British Columbia, was announced today by Willis "Bill" Osborne, president of Alpine Exploration. Under terms of the agreement, Alpine must issue 100,000 shares and make option payments of $100,000 over a five year period. There is also a royalty of 2 per cent on production up to two-and-a-half million dollars.

The option agreement is the latest in an aggressive exploration and development program being undertaken by Alpine to identify significant precious and base metal properties, particularly in Canada and Alaska. Alpine now has four properties in its portfolio. Besides the Stewart, B.C., area property, Alpine has three other gold-silver properties -- the Gold Dust in Alaska and the Wolverine Precious Metal and the Troitsa Peak, both in northern British Columbia.

Osborne, a professional geologist, says the best assay for gold on 127 rock samples from the property, located northwest of Stewart , is 1.366 ounces per ton gold, while the best overall assay is 0.877 ounces per ton gold 0.349 ounces per ton silver, 0.075 percent copper, 8.5 per cent lead and 14.3 percent zinc.

Of the other properties, says Osborne, its 9-square mile Alaskan Gold Dust property, 100 miles northeast of Fairbanks, looks to be the most promising. It has seen extensive placer mining operations in the past with the recovery of more than 50,000 ounces of gold. Company geologists think there could be several sources for this gold.

He adds that the Wolverine Precious Metal property shows strong indications of gold mineralization as well. Parts of the Wolverine property are less than 500 feet west of the AGC Americas Gold Corp.'s gold property where a significant mineral reserve has been outlined. AGC Americas is planning a $3-million exploration program this summer.

Troitsa Peak gold-silver property, covering some 6,300 acres in northern British Columbia, had one sample of float material yield as assay of 1.33 ounces per ton gold and 293 ounces per ton silver.

Osborne says with its exploration programs being launched next month, 1995 has excellent potential for the enhancement of company properties.
