LIVERPOOL'S Xabi Alonso Xabier Alonso Olano, commonly known as Xabi (prounounced Shabi) Alonso and often misspelt as Xavi Alonso (born 25 November 1981 in Tolosa, Basque Region, Spain) is a Spanish footballer who plays for Liverpool F.C..  wants a World Cup ban on horns hugely popular with South Africa South Africa, Afrikaans Suid-Afrika, officially Republic of South Africa, republic (2005 est. pop. 44,344,000), 471,442 sq mi (1,221,037 sq km), S Africa.  fans.

Alonso, with Spain for the Confederations Cup which is being used as a dry run for next year's finals, said: "They make a terrible noise and I don't think it's a good idea to have them on sale outside the grounds.

A FIFA spokesman said it would look at complaints.
