(New York), a media company that focuses on the legal and business communities, has acquired the assets of the Strategic Research Institute (SRI; New York), a privately held conference and seminar producer. No terms of the deal were given.

Established in 1993, SRI currently produces more than 130 conference events annually, targeted primarily at C-level executives and professionals in sectors that include finance and investment, aerospace and defense, life sciences, multicultural marketing, banking and insurance, technology and telecommunications, management and natural resources. The company has produced almost 1600 b2b events since its inception. SRI will continue to operate from its present locations in New York and Los Angeles and will become a part of ALM's conference operations, including ALM events for legal professionals and managers, Insight Information business conferences in Canada, and the RealShare conference series produced by ALM's Real Estate Media division.

"ALM president/ceo William Pollak said the purchase of SRI "reflects the ongoing evolution of our company as a diversified b2b media platform, while extending our ability to assist lawyers and law firms in reaching current and potential clients across a broad range of industries."
