ALM Names Scott Brede as Editor in Chief of Law Tribune Newspapers and Robert Steinbaum as Group Publisher.

 as editor in chief of ALM's Law Tribune Newspapers and GC New England New England, name applied to the region comprising six states of the NE United States—Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. The region is thought to have been so named by Capt. (R) magazine. Brede, formerly managing editor of the Law Tribune Newspapers, will oversee all editorial functions for the Hartford, Conn.-based group. The appointment was announced by Robert Steinbaum, recently named group publisher with management responsibility for ALM's regional properties in New Jersey and New England.

Brede joined ALM in 1995 as a reporter and held a variety of reporting and editing positions with Law Tribune properties, including the Connecticut Law Tribune(R) and the Western Massachusetts Law Tribune(R), before being named managing editor for the group in 2003. Prior to that, his experience included journalism positions with the Hartford Courant Cou`rant´

Steinbaum joined ALM as publisher of the New Jersey Law Journal(R) in 1987. A former assistant U.S. attorney in the Criminal Division of the New Jersey office and Connecticut resident, he began his publishing career as associate business manager of the Yale Daily News The Yale Daily News is a newspaper published by Yale University students in New Haven, Connecticut since January 28, 1878.
