ALLTEL Kentucky CWA Employees Approve New Contract.

:AT) today announced that the Communications Workers of America Communications Workers of America (CWA) is the largest communications and media labor union in the United States (the union also has locals in Canada), representing over 700,000 workers in both the private and public sectors.  in Kentucky informed the company that union members have ratified rat·i·fy

The contract covers about 380 employees in Lexington and Ashland and ends a strike declared by the union on June 8.

ALLTEL will hold orientation sessions on Friday with union members, and they will return to work beginning Monday.

They are part of Combat Logistics Regiment 37 , 3rd Marine Logistics Group (3MLG) and III Marine Expeditionary Force (III MEF). The unit is based out of the Marine Corps Base Camp Smedley D.  with more than 12 million customers. ALLTEL provides wireless, local telephone, long-distance, Internet and high-speed data services to residential and business customers in 26 states.
