ALLTEL Announces Management Change in Treasury Group.


LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- ALLTEL (NYSE NYSE

: AT) announced today that John Ebner will become company treasurer effective April 8. Ebner joined ALLTEL in 1996 and has served in various management roles.

Ebner succeeds Scott Settelmyer, who has been ALLTEL's treasurer since 2001. Settelmyer and his family have decided to move back to their hometown of Chicago.

The treasurer function will continue reporting to Gardner.

Ebner now serves as vice president of finance for ALLTEL's wireless operations. He joined the company in 1996 as assistant to the president of the former ALLTEL Information Services See Information Systems. . He later served as vice president of pricing and product management for ALLTEL Communications and as assistant to the president of ALLTEL Corp., where for several years he was primarily focused on merger and acquisition activities. Ebner also has served as regional vice president of finance based in Charlotte and as vice president of industry relations based in Washington, D.C.

"John's experience with ALLTEL has prepared him well to step into this new role," Gardner said. "He has a solid track record in a variety of operational and strategic roles and we look forward to his contributions as treasurer."
