ALLEN-BRADLEY DISBANDS ITS INTERNATIONAL GROUP TO CREATE "TRULY GLOBAL" ORGANIZATION; APPOINTS HEAD OF NEW ASIA PACIFIC REGION

MILWAUKEE, Aug. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Industrial automation leader Allen-Bradley Company, Inc., a unit of Rockwell International Corporation (NYSE: ROK) (ROK), has realigned its business activities outside the United States to better reflect a companywide commitment to maintaining its leadership position in industrial automation.
Allen-Bradley's International Group, which directed sales and support activities outside the United States from the company's Milwaukee headquarters, has been replaced in favor of three regions: The Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific. Each is headed by an Allen- Bradley senior executive who resides in that region.
The move completes a transition to total global responsiveness that began earlier this year when Allen-Bradley's product businesses assumed responsibility for product development and manufacturing throughout the world.
"This new organization will make it easier for Allen-Bradley to be a truly global organization and to take better advantage of growth opportunities outside the United States," said Don H. Davis, president of Allen-Bradley and senior vice president & president, automation, of Rockwell. "Each Allen-Bradley business unit now has global profit and loss accountability, so all employees will serve the global marketplace rather than having a few people focused exclusively on our non-U.S. business activities."
The senior executive in charge of each region reports directly to Davis and serves on the company's Senior Management Committee:
--William D. Fletcher, formerly senior vice president of Allen- Bradley's International Group, becomes president of the company's newly created Asia Pacific Region. He directs Allen-Bradley sales and support activities in Australia, New Zealand, The Philippines, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, India, Pakistan, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. Fletcher will move to Hong Kong, headquarters for the new region.
--Jeffrey A. Banaszynski, who became president of Allen-Bradley's European Region in 1992 reporting to Fletcher, now reports to Davis. He directs Allen-Bradley sales and support activities throughout Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East. European Region headquarters are in Frankfurt, Germany.
--Richard E. Shelton, formerly senior vice president of the North American Sales and Support Group, is named senior vice president, sales and support for The Americas. He assumes responsibility for Allen- Bradley's Latin American Region in addition to his current Canadian and U.S. sales and support responsibility. He will remain in Milwaukee and will continue to report to Davis.
Members of Allen-Bradley's former International Group will continue their work, some reporting to different managers within the new organizational structure.
Allen-Bradley is a worldwide leader in the manufacture and sale of industrial automation controls and systems. It is a unit of Rockwell International Corporation, a multi-industry company applying advanced technology to a wide range of products in its electronics, aerospace, automotive and graphics businesses.
